Episode 2 of MobLand picks up right where the pilot left off—Harry Da Souza racing against time to find Tommy Stevenson before a gang war erupts between the Harrigans and the Stevensons. Richie Stevenson has given Harry 18 hours to deliver Tommy alive. But the episode reveals that the stakes are far deadlier than anyone anticipated.
As the episode opens, Harry, Paul, Zosia, and Kiko are busy cleaning up Conrad Harrigan’s mess—namely, the corpse of Archie Hammond, Conrad’s lifelong friend, whom he shot in the chest on Maeve Harrigan’s word. Maeve convinced Conrad that Archie was a traitor working with the Stevensons, and Conrad didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger. Harry, however, doesn’t seem convinced and is more focused on damage control than interrogating Maeve’s claims.
Meanwhile, Conrad, although regretful, is assured by Maeve that killing Archie was the right decision. Their focus shifts toward abandoning their plans to push fentanyl, leaving Tommy’s disappearance as a lower priority—something they trust Harry to handle.
Harry’s investigation hits an obstacle when armed police, led by DS Ivan Fisk, arrest him for questioning about Archie. This delay gives Richie the upper hand. Knowing Harry’s time is running out, Richie personally confronts Kevin Harrigan and threatens war if Tommy isn’t delivered soon. Kevin, playing it cool, insists that Harry will come through and quickly sends Eddie into hiding at the Harrigan estate in the Cotswolds for his safety.
In a brilliant scene of verbal chess, DS Fisk interrogates Harry, though it becomes clear that neither side is willing to give anything up. Fisk’s real game is psychological—he wants to plant doubt in Harry’s mind, hoping Harry’s internal probe will eventually reveal the Harrigans’ mole. Unwittingly, Harry begins doing Fisk’s dirty work.
Meanwhile, Harry’s personal life is cracking. He misses a therapy session with Jan, his wife, adding more strain to their already fragile relationship.
While Eddie is being transported to the Cotswolds by Zosia and Kiko, they’re ambushed by Richie’s men. But the attackers are aiming to kill, not capture. This implies Richie either knows Tommy is already dead or is using his son’s disappearance as an excuse to eliminate a Harrigan. Fortunately, Eddie and his escorts survive the ambush and make it safely to Conrad’s estate, earning Conrad’s rare praise.
Once in the Cotswolds, Harry presents his theory to Conrad—that Archie might have been a police informant. But Conrad, who didn’t ask for proof when Maeve accused Archie, suddenly demands evidence now. This inconsistency raises more questions about Maeve’s motives.
Harry gets a lead when Eddie finally admits he lied about the night out and points Harry toward Alfie and Mink. Meanwhile, Kevin arrives and starts doubting Maeve himself, especially after realizing Conrad had no solid reason to kill Archie.
Maeve interrupts a key conversation between Kevin and Conrad, likely because they were getting too close to the truth. Her overly rehearsed declarations about Harrigan family legacy seem more like a power play than genuine sentiment.
Desperate and angry, Richie threatens Harry directly. He promises to harm Gina—Harry’s daughter—if Tommy doesn’t show up soon. Harry doesn’t retaliate in the moment, but the threat visibly shakes him. This moment quietly sets up an inevitable reckoning between Harry and Richie.
Back home, Jan is on the verge of asking for a divorce, but Harry shuts her down. Despite their issues, Harry is clearly determined to protect his wife and daughter at all costs.
Harry tracks down Valjon, the club manager Eddie claimed to know. In a brutal interrogation, Harry forces Valjon to reveal Tommy’s location. The truth is devastating—Tommy is dead, his dismembered body hidden in a box in a back room of the club.
Valjon claims he only “handled” the body, not that he committed the murder. This revelation opens several possibilities:
Eddie killed Tommy after a drug-fueled argument and asked Valjon to cover it up.
Maeve orchestrated Tommy’s death, sending Eddie out with Tommy as bait, knowing it would lead to chaos between the gangs.
Maeve acted independently, using Valjon to kill Tommy after seeing an opportunity to ignite a war between Richie and Conrad, paving her own path to power.
Given Maeve’s calculated moves and her increasing influence over Conrad, the third theory seems increasingly plausible.
MobLand’s second episode expertly deepens the tension while hinting at larger schemes at play. With Tommy dead, Archie gone, and Maeve quietly manipulating those in charge, the series is gearing up for an explosive confrontation. And at the center of it all stands Harry, desperately trying to hold everything together while his world falls apart.
